Simply Sai Kung

A boat departs Sai Kung, Hong Kong

Another great place in Hong Kong to visit is Sai Kung Town.  The Sai Kung District is the second largest in Hong Kong and it covers various sights for the nature lovers.

The town itself has a European feel with some parts reminding me of Lisboa, Portugal.  The border of one town square is dotted with cafes and shops, while along the bay, fishermen and their family sell their daily catch from their boats.  This is an experience as the exchange of produce and cash is done through the fisherman’s net.  Even the fish and crustaceans are plucked out of their water-filled containers and prepared on the spot in front of everyone.  You can’t get any fresher than that!

There is a nice blend between the old and contemporary lifestyles and architecture.  There is an old temple in the town but just outside of town, there are multi-million dollar mansions with views of the ocean providing a good variation for location portrait photography.
