Private moments amongst the rush

Amongst the monolithic shopping malls, offices and apartments, the rhythm of life continues on the ground level.  Taxis dodge between the other cars and trucks zooming the streets. Millions of people pounding the pavement in the heat.  Men and women, young and old, pushing delivery trolleys down the road.  This is Hong Kong’s heartbeat.

One group only pauses for the other according to the traffic lights.  The singular and spaced out beeps of the pedestrian lights provide pause while the cars rush by. Once the light goes green and the sound of the lights turn into a fast staccato, pedestrians swarm the road while the cars and trucks take pause.

The fast pace of Hong Kong overloads the senses.  In this environment, it may be hard to have a private moment outside.  Though, amongst the crowds of people, couples will always find a spot to claim as their own to have their romantic moment.  To them, the city’s frenetic pace fades into a lull.  In that moment, nobody else exists except for their partner – the one that they love, the one that they trust the most.

In these moments, locations and time do not matter.  All that matters is that the current moment exists and the only wish is for it to never end.
